Boukje Elisabeth Eerkens, Psy.D., QME has worked in intensive inpatient and outpatient settings since 1999 treating depression, anxiety, and PTSD. She completed her internship with Community Institute of Psychotherapy in 2003 and did her post-doctoral training with Alta Bates Hospital Pain and Rehabilitation Consultants in 2004. From 2005 to 2007, Dr. Eerkens provided intensive psychoanalytic team-based psychotherapy for Boyer House Foundation. She has been in private practice for 15+ years with a focus on clinical health psychology, occupational injury, and perinatal psychology. She is currently utilizing third-wave CBT and therapeutic assessment to provide evidence-based treatment of stress, chronic pain, trauma, shame, immigration/cultural hardship, and postpartum concerns.
Dr. Eerkens serves as a Qualified Medical Examiner (QME) for the California Department of Industrial Relations and as a Consulting Psychologist for the State of California PASRR program. She conducts immigration evaluations, qualified/agreed medical examinations, and therapeutic / psychodiagnostic assessments. Dr. Eerkens is a former Expert Reviewer for the Board of Psychology and holds specialized certificate training from Postpartum Support International (PSI). In addition to providing treatment and assessment in private practice, she maintains active interest in her professional memberships with the California Psychological Association’s Division of Clinical Psychopharmacology (Division V), the Association for Contextual Behavioral Science (ACBS), and the Society for Personality Assessment (SPA).
