BIO:
Boukje Elisabeth Eerkens, Psy.D., QME (she/her/hers) has worked with adolescents and adults in intensive inpatient and outpatient settings since 1999 treating depression, anxiety, and PTSD. She completed her internship with Community Institute of Psychotherapy in 2003 and did her post-doctoral training with Alta Bates Hospital Pain and Rehabilitation Consultants in 2004. From 2005 to 2007, Dr. Eerkens provided intensive psychoanalytic team-based psychotherapy for Boyer House Foundation. She has been in private practice for over 20 years with a focus on clinical health psychology, currently utilizing humanistic third-wave CBT, attachment sciences, and collaborative assessment to provide evidence-based treatment of stress, trauma, shame, chronic pain, and occupational injury.
Dr. Eerkens serves as a Qualified Medical Examiner (QME) for the California Department of Industrial Relations and as a Consulting Psychologist for the State of California PASRR program. She conducts immigration evaluations, qualified medical examinations, and therapeutic/psychodiagnostic assessments for adults and adolescents. She is a former Expert Reviewer for the Board of Psychology and maintains active interest in her professional memberships with CPA’s Division of Clinical Psychopharmacology; Association for Contextual Behavioral Science (ACBS); Therapeutic Assessment Institute; and Society for Occupational Health Psychology (SOHP).
